I work in the field of sexual and reproductive health, with 20 years experience as both a designer and design lecturer, half of this time spent in Zimbabwe. My experience in southern Africa is particularly useful when designing for low-resource settings and where English is a second language.

I can bring to life complex and text or data heavy documents. I will always read your copy and if appropriate suggest changes that make it more readable or sit better on the page. I can also give a light proof-read at this stage. If you would like a full proof-read or copy-edit, this can be arranged. When working with images I am sensitive to issues of representation and disclosure and will find solutions where photography is not possible.

These are some of the areas I offer:

  • Branding, especially for small research consortia
  • Typesetting or full design service for reports/papers/newsletters/policy briefs
  • Design of conference posters and banners
  • Design of toolkits and guides

I also work as an illustrator and artist, sometimes in conjunction with graphic design – for the Alliance I designed the layout and illustrations for their good practice guides. Most of this work is part of a wider creative practice. Have a look under ‘Printmaking’ in my portfolio.

I am based on the south coast of England, only a short train ride to London and Brighton.

Clients include the International HIV/AIDS Alliance, IPPF, UNAIDS, CARE, GNP+, ATHENA Network and UNESCO.
